Cyberlinxxx- Dev update #127 - In the render zone



Hey cyberjacks,

hope you're doing well.

As talked about it before, I'm deep into rerendering the images for the VN.

What started as a simple rerender turned out to be a much needed rework of all renders up to v0.15. Except v016 because since the virtua game is intended to be a virtual recreation of the ingame reality it can look the way it does without changes.

Cary-June got a new black-golden dress and some repairing of her underlying UV map which caused cracks in her skin texture. You, as the player, never saw them but they were there and they annoyed the hell out of me.

I'm also using the latest iterations of Zandra and Geena. The former got a new skin in, I think 0.14 or so. Her bigger frame caused the skin texture to look like a pimple swamp around her butt. Not anymore. Zandra's butt is a real banger now.

Geena got some changes to her body and face and according to your reactions it made her just they way she was supposed to look. Petite, sexy and fierce.

Trish's face got a slightly different nose and some changes to her mouth doesn't made her look "a bit intimidating" as some of you were putting it. Her blonde hair got a new shader and now it doesn't have that strange plastic shine anymore.

And she got some Cyberlines under her eyes in orange-purple. 

Asako will keep her tattoo which you have seen in the july wallpaper.

Keely remains unchanged, just like A-Z. Tried to convert her from G3 to G8(a technical description for the version of charactersG3 is a few years old and G8 was introduced 2 1/2 years ago. Neweset versions are so called G9 which I don't use because there are barely any cyberpunk or sci fi assets for those character models.)

The conversion made A-Z's face too ... smooth somehow. There must have been other changes happenning under the hood. Her smile turned out to be looking like someone stomped on her foot and she had to tolerate it. That change wasn't very usable so I throw the conversion over board.

Athena also's gonna keep the tattoo that she had in an older wallpaper and maybe some back tattoo.

Deanna got no changes until today. There could some but I have no idea what I could add or throw out to make her even more cute, so she will be her old self.

All those changes on top of updating to DAZ 21.05 with improved IRAY lighting(the render engine that produces the images) and many more other things are responsible that the images look way way better than 3 years back. 

Which means I have to rerender the whole VN. Roughly 2000 images.

Let that sink in. 

But they look damn awesome. Have a look.

These renders aren't postworked yet, so you can expect them to be looking even better in v0.17

The older images are giving me the most headaches. The filepath of the dufs(the file format DAZ saves the 3D stuff in) are from the times when Cyberlinxxx was still called Lewdy Dewdy. Oh boi. And DAZ pukes errors upon errors when reusing those dufs. So I have to remake the old images from scratch. I hope the newer ones are more cooperable when reloading them. That would save me a lot of time. 

All in all, 200 images were remade til today, including the corridor scene and dining scene from the "Upgrades, people upgrades" post a while ago.

As it stands it will take at least 2 months til v0.17 will drop which will only be the visual remaster. Aaand unfortunately you may have to replay the VN. I plan to add one or two choices.
